Open letter to all my Grassroots Friends and Activists, My strong recommendation to all involved is to be sure that your teaparty effort stays grassroots and nonpartisan. We need to cut government and taxes big time and get back to our constitutional roots. Many would like to co-opt the movement and call it their own, but no one owns us! I am working with a group of concerned citizens around the country and want to guide you to a couple of tiny little grassroots efforts with huge implications. Grassroots 101 - Policy on lists and fundraising Lists: Lists should be kept local. Please do not sell or give away. They belong to the ones who work to collect them. Lists are the gold of the movement. If you are a real grassroots organizer, you will take care of the lists collected and keep them in trusted local hands and email about events and campaigns to them, but never, never, never send them to 'a national effort for a good cause'. Once you have done that you will have forever diluted your local efforts because they quickly migrate without your permission and to efforts and causes that may not even be about what you think they are about.
As we learn from our mistakes, this all leads up to a really big event on July 4th. We have momentum going and the present Administration is supplying plenty of fuel almost on a daily basis. It's time to get everybody on one page, and I think we can do it if we can just decide where that page will be.
