The idea that the British Queen herself – with a putative worth in the trillions – will apparently make such statements as these only adds to the strength of what we would have to believe is a considerable rhetorical reversal. Given the endless attempts of the British political class to draw Britain more powerfully into the EU, such statements also would seem to us to mark a further repudiation of the ruling class's actual actions and intentions (and by the ruling class, no less).
