Nebraska Right To Life Not Alone In Concerns About City Of Lincoln’s Handling Of Occupy Group

I hope all of our visitors had a blessed and peaceful Thanksgiving holiday. I took an extended (and unannounced) holiday break myself and very much enjoyed time with family. I even enjoyed chasing dust bunnies and scrubbing word work in preparation for our usual Thanksgiving visitors. My computer was off and if a TV was…

OccupyLincoln: The 99 Percent, The Proletariat OR The Incoherent?

So Lincoln, Nebraska has a growing tent Shanty Town, occupied by a band of intentionally helpless Lincolnites. Ironically, Shanty Town Lincoln is located squarely on one of the best spots in the City to serve as a symbol of that city government’s, and therefore, elected officials’ and bureaucrats’ mismanagement of taxpayer dollars for a very… more

Jane Kleeb: Just a Talking Head or an Alinsky Wanna Be?

Think I was rude in my recent article? Too hard on poor Jane Kleeb? Over-emphasizing her leftist tendencies because of the pipeline issue? Unfortunately, there’s more. Problems in politics and public policy seem to be like cockroaches; for every one you see there are at least one hundred more in the wall. The TransCanada pipeline… more

On Loss of Belladier David Hall: Bells Must Be Ringing in Heaven

I’m feeling, I think, only a small measure of the true loss to our country and the understandable sadness of a dear friend at the news of the death of Texan David Hall. Along with all of this, I’m feeling my own negligence in failing to introduce GiN’s readers to David and his family and… more Source post >>>

Governor Heineman Really Liked Purple People Before They Were “Cool”

Editor’s Note: This article is the fifth in a series of articles discussing Nebraska politics particularly the NEGOP, its leadership, elected officeholders, candidates, campaigns and closely-connected interest groups as they all relate to “the Tea Party Movement”. We recommend starting with “Nebraska’s Ruling Class and the Perils of (Assisted) Political Suicide“, which includes links to… more

GiN Tea Party Questions: GOP Employee Seems to Protest Too Much

Thursday’s post, “Tea Party” People: See Anything Wrong With This Email?, has attracted a LOT of traffic, but only one comment so far.  In our opinion, however, that comment and our response to it merit more attention from our readers than it’s likely to get if it’s just appended to the original article.  For [...]

Not Just Sunshine Patriots

There will be additional follow-up coming regarding our Tax Day Tea Party, but here’s a start… Cut Taxes Crreate JobsOn December 22, we had what has been dubbed the “Ice Tea Party” in <10 degree weather in freezing rain, after Senator Ben Nelson “iced” the Cornhusker Kickback with Reid and Schumer, paving the way to the passage of the health care law. We thought that was our biggest challenge in terms of forces of nature. Thursday, April 15’s forecast didn’t look promising; there was a 60% chance of scattered showers. Within minutes of starting our program, the drops began to fall from the sky. Then it started to pour. Only a handful of the hundreds left. Read more via Source post here >>>
