Texas Committee Holds Hearing on Bill to Create 100% Reserve Gold-Backed Digital Currency

The legislation would require the state comptroller to establish a digital currency that is fully backed by gold and fully redeemable in cash or gold as well. The comptroller would also be required to create a mechanism to use this gold-backed digital currency in everyday transactions.

Signed by the Governor: North Dakota Law Expands Raw Milk Sales in the State

Minnesota House Passes Bill to Legalize Marijuana Despite Federal Prohibition

Under the bill as approved by the House, a person over 21 would be allowed to possess up to two ounces of marijuana in public and 1.5 pounds at home, with lower limits for cannabis concentrates (8 grams) or THC edibles (800 milligrams of THC). It would also allow members of the public to home grow up to eight plants.

Maine Committee Holds Hearing on Bill to Authorize Investment of State Funds in Gold and Silver

Maine Bill Would Allow CBD in Food Despite FDA Prohibition

The legislation would recognize cannabis and hemp as food as a protected right under the Constitution in Maine. In effect, this would ensure there is no state ban on the sale of food, drinks, or supplements containing cannabinoids or THC. This is crucial because the federal government continues to prohibit cannabis as a controlled substance, and despite removing hemp from the list of controlled substances, the federal government still prohibits the sale of CBD products in food under FDA rules.
