On April 10, 2012, just four days prior to his 25th birthday, United States Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills, of the 82nd Airborne Division, was critically injured by an IED while on patrol in Afghanistan. Travis lost all four limbs in the explosion, but he did not lose his spirit.

Travis has a wife, Kelsey, and an 8-month old daughter, Chloe. Every day Travis is
getting stronger and learning to work with his new prosthetic limbs.  Travis does not know the meaning of “quit”.  He is soldier in the true sense of the word.  While the army is covering a great deal of expenses, this family will incur significant secondary expenses that will not be covered by the military. This is where we can help!

As civilians, enjoying the rights this man has sacrificed so much to ensure we
have, a simple “thank you” does not seem adequate.  In order to do our part, we are holding a “Miles for Mills” motorcycle ride and benefit on July 28, 2012. Check in at 9 AM, last bike out at 10 AM. The ride will start at Strokers Dallas, 9304 Harry Hines, Dallas, and end at the American Legion Post 88, 105 Gotcher Ave., Lake Dallas.  For those who do not ride, Card Sharks will be hosting a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament, ADA will host a dart tournament, 50/50 drawing, and a silent auction at the American Legion at noon.

Any donation will be greatly appreciated. All proceeds will go to the Travis Mills fund.  For more information about Travis, please visit www.travismills.org.

We appreciate any help you can provide! Thank you for helping out this true
American Hero!
