Signed as Law: Nebraska Allows Permitless Concealed Carry in the State

Maine Bill Would Allow CBD in Food Despite FDA Prohibition

The legislation would recognize cannabis and hemp as food as a protected right under the Constitution in Maine. In effect, this would ensure there is no state ban on the sale of food, drinks, or supplements containing cannabinoids or THC. This is crucial because the federal government continues to prohibit cannabis as a controlled substance, and despite removing hemp from the list of controlled substances, the federal government still prohibits the sale of CBD products in food under FDA rules.

Texas Committee Passes Second Amendment Financial Privacy Act

Titled the Second Amendment Financial Privacy Act, the legislation would prohibit a financial institution operating in Texas from requiring or assigning a firearms code. A firearms code is defined as "any merchant category code approved by the International Organization for Standardization for a firearms retailer, including Merchant Category Code 5723."
