"Purdue has a $313,000-a-year acting provost and six vice and associate vice provosts, including a $198,000 chief diversity officer. It employs 16 deans and 11 vice presidents, among them a $253,000 marketing officer and a $433,000 business school chief. Spending on administration has been rising faster than funds for instruction and research at 198 leading U.S. research universities, crowding out instruction at a time of skyrocketing tuition and $1 trillion in outstanding student loans. "The entire education industry on the U.S. is based on an inflexible, increasingly marginal-return 'factory model.' We are 'training' millions of people in an assembly-line based on the assumption that academia is a limitless growth industry, when in fact it has reached the zenith of diminishing-return complexity and cost. Student would be encouraged to earn money via the work projects undertaken. Instead of owing $120,000 after four years of passive study, students might complete their University experience with earnings in the bank. Americans Aged 18-29 Have A More Favorable Response To Socialism Than To Capitalism

"In the prior post, we showed a presentation that looked at America from the perspective of a corporation and how it would be completely unsustainable. Luckily, there is little probability that America will ever have anything to do with S-Corp status, and far more likely end up as an agrarian Kolhoz. The reason: based on a Pew survey of America's youth, or those aged 18-29, more have a positive view response toward Socialism than they do toward Capitalism. We will leave it at that. Carnegie Mellon University trustee accused of laundering millions for drug cartel

"Marco Antonio Delgado, a prominent Texas attorney and former trustee at Carnegie Mellon University, appeared in an El Paso court on Thursday to face charges that he conspired with a Mexican drug cartel to launder more than $600 million. The Department of Homeland Security did not name the cartel he’s accused of working with, but said that he conspired to launder the money from 2007-2008. His biography on Carnegie Mellon University said that Delgado was on leave and working for incoming Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto, although Nieto’s aides denied any association." School district calls 12-year-old rape victim ‘negligent’ and ‘careless’ in her own abuse

"The Moraga School District in Moraga, California alleged that a 12-year-old girl, who suffered prolonged sexual abuse at the hands of two different middle school teachers in the 1990s, was 'negligent,' 'careless' and 'was herself responsible for the acts and damages of which she claims.' Former Joaquin Moraga physical education teacher Julie Correa pleaded guilty to rape and sexual battery of Cunnane over a four-year period beginning in 1996, when Cunnane was an eighth grader. The suit also alleges that Cunnane turned to her science teacher, Daniel Witters, to report the abuse, who in turn molested her." Continue reading →

Cop Tasers 10-Year-Old Boy After Refusing To Clean His Patrol Car

"A ten-year-old boy was tasered by a police officer with 50,000 volts of electricity on a school playground after refusing to clean the officer's car. The officer responded to the boy's sarcastic remark by saying, 'Let me show you what happens to people who do not listen to the police.' He then tasered the boy, who weighs less than 100 pounds, in the chest causing him to black out. When the boy came to, instead of calling for emergency medical assistance, he took the boy to the principal's office. The boy, was left with scars resembling cigarette burns and has since been suffering from PTSD, often waking up in the middle of the night grabbing his chest." Continue reading →

TSA opens museum to inspire its mission

"In 2010, armed with a master's degree in history and experience working at several museums, Smith was hired for the newly created position of TSA historian. Since then he's been filming oral histories of current and past TSA employees, creating exhibits and organizing a growing cache of objects related to the agency's history. In 2011, to mark the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy, the TSA gave the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History several artifacts relating to TSA history.
