Biblical scholars headline Tulsa Prophecy Conference
Political unrest in the Middle East, economic turmoil in the United States and devastating natural disasters all over the world, experts on biblical prophecy will gather in Tulsa this week to try to shed some light on what could be the near future.
The three-day Mid-America Bible Conference opens at 9 a.m. April 28 at the Marriott Southern Hills (1902 E. 71st St.). Conference organizer and author Phillip Goodman of Tulsa said the event features some of the most learned and trusted teachers concerning Bible prophecy in America.
Here are profiles of the scheduled speakers:
Dr. David R. Reagan
Reagan is the founder and senior evangelist for Lamb & Lion Ministries. Reagan is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The University of Texas in Austin. His graduate degrees were earned in the field of international relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy of Tufts and Harvard Universities.
Reagan started Lamb & Lion Ministries in 1980. Before entering the ministry, he had an extensive career in higher education which included the following positions: assistant to the president of Austin College in Sherman, Texas; president of South Texas Jr. College in Houston; director of Pepperdine University’s Center for International Business in Los Angeles; and vice president of Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma.
In the mid-1960s, Reagan was a Fulbright Lecturer at The University of the Philippines and toured all of Southeast Asia lecturing on U.S. foreign policy in behalf of the U.S. Information Agency.
He entered full-time ministry in 1976 when he was called to serve as the pulpit minister for a church in Irving, Texas.
He has written these books – Eternity: Heaven or Hell?, God’s Plan for the Ages, Wrath & Glory: The Meaning of Revelation, The Christ in Prophecy Study Guide, America the Beautiful?, Trusting God, Living for Christ in the End Times, An Overview of Revelation Study Guide, and Jesus is Coming Soon! (which is a book for children). He has co-authored another book called The Parched Soul of America.
Reagan has led more than forty pilgrimages to Israel that focus on the prophetic significance of the sites visited. He has also conducted prophecy conferences in Russia, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Austria, Beloruss, Israel, South Africa, Mexico, the Philippines, India, England (including Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland) and China.
He hosts the Lamb & Lion’s weekly television program called Christ in Prophecy, which is broadcast nationally on six Christian networks which combined have access to 70 million homes in the United States.
Terry James
James lost his eyesight in 1993, due to a retinal disease but continues to write prolifically. He worked in the public relations/marketing field for more than 25 years. As public relations director for several companies, James conducted press conferences and wrote and produced various forms of business communications for numerous clients.
Additionally, James worked as creative director for advertising agencies and as a press liaison for a state agency. He received his education at Arkansas Polytechnic Institute; Memphis Academy of Art; and The University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where he studied journalism/advertising and political science.
James has authored, compiled and edited such prophecy books as: Fore Warning, Storming Toward Armageddon, Essays In Apocalypse, The Triumphant Return Of Christ, and Earth’s Final Days And Foreshocks Of Antichrist.
James’ book, Piercing the Future: Prophecy and the New Millennium (2000), discusses what the new millennium holds for planet earth. Nineteen prophecy experts piece together Bible prophecy to provide understanding about what lies ahead in this new millennium and beyond.
He is editor of www.raptureready.com, one of the most frequented prophetic websites in the world.
Daymond Duck
Duck worked his way through college, graduating from The University of Tennessee with a B.S. degree in agriculture engineering. In about ten years, he worked his way up in a large company from lab tech., to chemist, to lab supervisor, to group leader, and finally to supervisor of technical and process services. He later took a job as a rural carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. He has twice served as Honorary State Chaplain for the Tennessee Rural Carriers.
In 1979, at the age of forty, he entered the ministry. He completed the five-year course-of-study Program at Emory University for United Methodist Pastors. He is a bi-vocational pastor, a prophecy conference speaker, a member of the Pre-Trib Study Group in Washington, D.C., and he preaches revivals. During his second year in the ministry one of his churches won “Church of the Year” honors in his district. He retired from the Postal Service in June of 1999 to become a full time pastor.
He is the best-selling author of a shelf full of books: On The Brink an Easy-to-Understand End-Time Bible Prophecy; Revelation: God’s Word for the Biblically-Inept; Daniel: God’s Word for the Biblically-Inept and Prophecies of the Bible: God’s Word for the Biblically-Inept. He is a contributing author to: Forewarning—The Approaching Battle Between Good and Evil; Foreshadows of Wrath and Redemption; and Piercing the Future—Prophecy and the New Millennium.
Paul Wilkinson
Wilkinson was born and raised in Oldham, Lancashire, where he still lives. He was converted to Christ in 1990 while studying Mathematics and Statistics at York University.
After graduating with a college degree in 1992, he spent four years in the insurance industry, before enrolling at the Nazarene Theological College in Didsbury, South Manchester. He graduated with a Diploma in theology and youth ministry, a BA (Hons) in theology and an MA in theology. He then lectured part-time at the college for one year, teaching introductory modules in biblical studies and biblical backgrounds.
In 2003, he began his doctorate at Manchester University, where he investigated the Church’s response in the Nineteenth Century to the return of the Jewish people to their homeland. The title of his thesis was John Nelson Darby and the Origins of Christian Zionism. After graduating in 2006, an edited version of his thesis was published by Paternoster Press entitled, For Zion’s Sake: Christian Zionism and the Role of John Nelson Darby (2007).
In 2005, Paul was invited to study at the International School of Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, and in 2008 was invited back to present a workshop on anti-Semitism at the 6th International Conference on Holocaust Education. He has served as a research consultant for the award-winning Christian documentary film, The Destiny of Britain (Hatikvah Film Trust, 2007), has appeared on a BBC Radio 4 panel discussion program about Christian Zionism, and is a regular conference speaker. Wilkinson is also a member of the Pre-Trib Research Center, which is based at Liberty University in Virginia.
G. Thomas Sharp
Sharp is a Christian educator, religious leader, businessman and author. He is the founder and chairman of The Creation Truth Foundation (CTF) Inc., and founder of the Institute of Biblical Worldview Studies (IBWS), both in Noble, Oklahoma and co-founder and president of the Museum of Earth History in Eureka Springs, Ark. Sharp serves as the editor in chief for the Truth In Science curriculum, a Bible-based science curriculum.
Sharp has been a science educator since 1964, and has earned a bachelor of science degree from Purdue University, a masters of science at The University of Oklahoma, and a Ph.D. from the South Florida Bible College and Seminary with an emphasis in the philosophy of religion and science.
David Hitt
Hitt is a patent attorney and a shareholder of Hitt Gaines, P.C., and an intellectual property law firm in Dallas. He has bachelor’s degrees in physics and accounting, a master’s degree in taxation and a doctorate in law. He is also formally educated in economics, computer science and mathematics. He specializes in all facets of intellectual property law with extensive experience in patent procurement in the electrical, mechanical and computer arts, including: computer architectures; cryptography and cryptanalysis; mathematical models of physical systems; telecommunications systems; optical transmission systems; discrete and integrated circuits; electromagnetic effects; control systems; data security, recovery and forensics systems; land, air and space-based military systems; motors and generators; turbo machinery; hydraulic and pneumatic systems; fluid pumps, compressors and motors; sensors and meters; thermal systems; and mechanical transmissions and actuators. His expertise also includes preparing patentability, registrability and infringement opinions as well as counseling corporations on intellectual property strategy, valuation and cost control.
Hitt is chairman of the board of Zola Levitt Ministries and advises several other ministries on legal and technical matters. He is a contributing author of Flashpoint 2012 and is writing a book on dimensionlessness.
