I Paid To See A Movie About Singing. I Got 90 Minutes Of Pentagon Propaganda.

"Retired Army lieutenant colonel Thomas Lesnieski, who was involved with the production of the film, says that in order to 'make sure that the way the military is portrayed is done right,' changes were made to the script of Pitch Perfect 3 after the film enlisted 'DoD support'."

Governments Try to Control Language to Hilarious Results

"The people of Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, and Montenegro all speak the same language, the Serbo-Croatian language, yet their respective governments claim that they speak Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian and Montenegrin. In reality, the differences between how people speak in the former Yugoslavia are as little as the differences between English in Britain and the United States. Nonetheless, their respective governments sought to courageously protect their people from not speaking a language named after their national identity."

French actress denounced for defending men’s right to seduce women

"She is one of 100 French women who wrote an open letter, warning about a new 'puritanism' sparked by recent sexual harassment scandals. It deplores a wave of 'denunciations', following rape allegations made against US movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. A group of French feminists condemned the letter, accusing the signatories of trivialising sexual violence."

In North Korea, Black Markets Are Saving Lives

"Initially, these markets consisted of disorganized traders meeting in fields, facing seizure from police if they did not come up with a bribe. Today, the jangmadang practice has led to fully-fledged markets, complete with stalls selling street food, smuggled electronics, ingredients, and clothes; certain markets allegedly grew to encompass upwards of a thousand stalls. Today, the markets remain a crucial element of survival for many North Koreans, with some reports estimating that around 5 million (around a fifth of the overall population) are 'directly or indirectly dependent on the markets'."

Coddingtons Corner: From Nuisance to Threat – The High Cost of Truth by Paul Craig Roberts

I am convinced that the US, and probably the entire Western world, that is, the American Empire, has entered an era in which respect for truth does not exist in public and private institutions. Painful as it is, our vote is for war.” As Lewis Lapham, myself and others asked at the time, what bomb? Read more via source post:

Oh yeah! Now I remember why I lost interest in my political blog, it was because both sides suck!

Nobody to pull for who won’t cave to leftists. Repeal Obamacare? Sure! They can do that! On day 1 even.  Except the Republicans in the House are gutless. The “Day One” repeal becomes over a month in, and then it … Continue reading

So this is How We Beat Hillary??

“Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote that he is not making a present or a compliment to please an individual – or at least that he ought not so to do; but that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is …

Living with Venezuela’s high inflation

"As the world watches the Greek debt crisis unfold, the economy of a country in another corner of the planet is also struggling, and some experts are even trying to draw similarities. Venezuela has the world's highest inflation, leaving many facing shortages and soaring prices. While the government of president Nicolas Maduro says this is the result of an 'economic war by capitalists and the United States against the country's socialist revolution', critics say the high inflation rate is simply showing the government's economic incompetence. The BBC's Daniel Pardo explains how inflation affects what Venezuelans buy every day, like the popular snack called Arepa." Continue reading
