John wrote this Gospel while he was bishop of the church at Ephesus, during the period between 80 - 90 AD, and prior to the writing of 1, 2, and 3 John, and the Book of Revelation. This Gospel is often referred to as the “spiritual Gospel,” since it focuses on the spiritual aspect of Jesus’ ministry, emphasizing His divinity. Thus, he introduces Jesus as the Word, who was with God from the beginning, and is God. You can see more of Jesse C Jones work here: http://jessecjones.wordpress.com
