Books Are Being Added to the Library

Several years ago now, I worked with a dear friend and mentor to publish books for him. His name was Jesse C Jones and he was a lifetime friend of my family. His story and a little about the early days is in one of his books, A Man of God. When we originally published his books, we did so on the platform Scribd. It was a great place to store books, pamphlets, and documents and everything was free to publish and share. Since that time, they have tried to move the platform to a membership venue, but we are grandfathered in there at least for now. I don't like the way they try to get everyone who goes there to join now, but all of our books there are still free to read and download if you push past all that. But I don't know how long that will last either. Therefore, I am slowly adding the books that I want to be sure stay available to CLibertyC. I plan to leave them on Scribd as well. As these books are added, they will be indexed and linked here for your easy access below. They are being added by the date published so they are spread out back in time on this websites and not just looking as if they were current publications.

A Study on the Epistle to the Colossians by Jesse C Jones

The design of this letter was to correct false teachings, and to point out to this church the supreme headship of Christ, who is above all principalities and powers. This is one of the four “Prison Epistles,” the other three being Ephesians, Philippians, and Philemon (62-63 AD). Topics include faith, putting on the mind of Christ, the old man, and intercession.

A Study on the Epistle to Philemon by Jesse C Jones

This is a private letter, the only one of the kind written by Paul, and the shortest of his epistles. Philemon was a resident of Colossae and was member of the church there (Colossians 4:9). It was by Paul he was brought into the Christian life. That Philemon was an earnest Christian appears from Paul’s statements. Paul rejoices over the faith and love of Philemon; asks forgiveness for Onesimus.

A Study on the Second Epistle to Timothy by Jesse C Jones

In his second epistle to Timothy, Paul addresses Timothy as his dearly beloved son, and wishes him grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. He prays for Timothy both night and day; greatly desiring to see him before he is put to death. He is thankful for the faith that Timothy demonstrates, which he says was in his mother Eunice, and his grandmother Lois. He then reminds him of the gift of God, which was imparted when he laid hands on him and prayed. In this epistle, Paul addresses guidance for Timothy, wickedness in the last days, and with some final instructions says goodbye.

A Study on the Second Epistle to the Corinthians by Jesse C Jones

Paul encourages the Corinthians and all God’s people throughout Achaia, which was originally part of the Peloponnesus. The Romans applied the name to all Greece and Macedonia in 146 BC, and Augustus divided the whole into two provinces—Macedonia in the north and Achaia in the south, with Corinth as its capital. Grace be to you and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our savior, who encourages us in all our tribulations, who comforts us in all our trials so that we can comfort others in their trials. So if we are afflicted it is for your encouragement and deliverance, and if we are encouraged that should encourage you when you have to endure sufferings like those we are experiencing. For we want you to know about the trials we have experienced in the province of Asia. Things were so bad that in our hearts we felt that we were under a sentence of death. However, this was to get us to rely on God, and not ourselves. He rescued us from deadly peril, and the One in whom we have placed our hope will continue to rescue us. You must add your help by praying for us; for the more people that are praying, the more people there will be to give thanks when the prayer is answered. In confidence I had planned to visit you on my way to Macedonia, and visit again on the way back, but to spare you I didn’t come to Corinth at that time in order not to come in a rebuking spirit, as I should have had to come to you, if I had come then. Not that we have Lordship over your faith, but we are helpers of your joy: for by faith you stand.

Dream Small

In 2016, during a period of about a year when it seemed possible — even likely — that Shelli would win her battle with cancer, she and I plotted out an article for the GiN website that would explain to our readers what had been going on in our lives to cause our extended hiatus […]

Who’s Attempting to Legislate Morality?

We encourage visitors to read the transcript from or listen to the audio of a brief statement from Pastor Bryan Clark of Lincoln Berean Church: “As I’m sure you’re aware, this is an election year. I’m sure you’re also aware that we are very divided as a nation. Our Pledge of Allegiance says that we […]

Dr. Benjamin Carson — Speaking Truth to Power

The phrase “speaking truth to power” is actually of Quaker origin from the fairly recent past — 1955 to be exact.  It was the title of a pamphlet published by the Society of Friends that suggested to the two major superpowers nonviolent means of resolving the Cold War.  If it appears cliché to the reader,… more
